That’s all she wrote / Sun Oct 30

What a day we had to wrap up our 2022 fishing season. It was actually hard to feel sad stepping off the boat after all of the fun we had today. We celebrated our loyal fishing family and welcomed a few newbies as we set out for an all day trip with Capt Pete, crew Jay and Jax, and galley girl Kim on the Northern Star.
Fishermen were asked to dress in costume and Shawn Maille won a free marathon for next season with the fist costume pictured. We were very impressed with his along with all of the funny, scary and even sexy costumes! Angel and I ( April) put together raffle prizes and I called out 1 number per hour for Tackle, Costa glasses, cash, gift cards and scratch tickets.
Now let’s talk fishing. I had money envelopes put aside for various SCAVENGER HUNT fishing if you will. $25 if you caught a sculpin ( congrats Mr. Tuite), $25 for a wolf/monk ( unclaimed) and $100 if you caught one of each of these species- red, pollock, haddock, cusk, whiting. It took a while but Tom Fernandez got the job done! Brad won the pool with a 9.4 lb cusk.
Fishing itself was steady but as far as keepers go some people had none ( but caught 25 cod) and some people had 10 plus keepers. But there was always something coming up ( lots of shorts) and if it did get quiet- Capt Pete moved the boat.
We will be drawing our SEASON PASS raffle tomorrow morning.
We will be having our annual
10 pack sale Dec 2,3,4
More details to come soon.
Until then…. Thankyou. Thankyou from all of us at Al Gaurons. It’s because of you we get to do what we love for a living. When I saw that sunrise with all of you fools out there this morning I knew there was no place I would rather be.
SEA you all soon,
April and Angel
